Regions Bank, a large bank operating in the South and Midwest, was hit with a cyber attack earlier this month, leaving customers unable to access online and mobile banking applications.  Some of the nation’s largest banks have been victims of cyber crime in recent months.

The bank confirmed this tip through their Twitter account, tweeting, “We are currently under cyber attack and our website and Online Banking are experiencing issues. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

They went on to say, “While we work on a resolution, please DM us or call 1-800-REGIONS for assistance. Thank you for your patience.”

Regions Bank used social media to alert customers about a cyber attack Thursday afternoon. Online and mobile banking were not accessible, leaving customers like Whitter unable to access their account.
